Summary:
|
The Curriculum Department, in collaboration with the teachers and administrators at Colerain High School and Northwest High School, are recommending the addition of a new course, AP Research, to the high school program of study for the 2025-26 school year. According to the College Board, this course "aims to equip students with the power to analyze and evaluate information with accuracy and precision in order to craft and communicate evidence-based arguments". This course would be added as an elective course and would be offered to 11th and 12th grade students who have completed the AP Seminar course. The course would reside in the English Department but the skills developed through this course will complement any of our Honors, Advanced Placement, and CCP courses across content areas. This item is being brought for information only and will be brought back for approval at the next regularly schedule Board of Education meeting. |
